UP election: An image makeover time for Congress.

Today Congress has released their vision 2020 for Uttarpradesh at the moment when every party is eyeing uttar Pradesh election as very crucial for their parties’ identity. Though BSP and SP donot visible in this race but Congress and BJP are taking big chances this time. I can understand that BSP is a ruling party at this point of time in UttarPradesh and Samajwadi Party is one which is best suited for the ruling parties flip of the government. But this time Congress is very keen on their image makeover and Rahul Gandhi’s extensive ‘yatra’ across UP and this manifesto ‘Vision 2020’ are an attempt for improving the chances for getting more winning seats this time. Im confident that this time Congress will improve upon its numbers one because people of Uttarpradesh are fed up of corruption, unemployment, poverty and ‘not positive attitude for business’ promoted by their existing government and the Samajwadi party in past. Second, I believe that this time congress must have exchanged huge amount of money doing the Rahul Gandhi’s yatra across UP cities and villages. It must be influencing for voters directly or indirectly. Also, I would like to add here that BhartiyaJanta Party (BJP) is not able to capitalize on the corruption issues happened in the congress tenure and the weak presence of Congress in UP. Apart from that industrialist from across UP and other states do not see BJP as their supporter, so funding for the BJP election campaign is another big issue for them. Also their choice and leaders for campaign like Uma Bharti might not be appropriate in a sense to woo Muslim or minority voters in upcoming election, if I talk about her inclination for open support for Hindutva philosophy where religious minorities are showing their dissent. When I show Congress’s election manifesto for UP then they have talk about corruption, employment for 2000000 lakh people in next 5 years ( which is merely 10% of total unemployment at this point of time), rationalizing the reservation quota system in terms of providing more reservation for minorities and providing more opportunities for local small scale business owners to improve on the local skill and for the migrant workers as well in UP. I support the idea of reforming the local skill of working so that people who are associated with their profession can improve upon and create wealth and employment opportunities for others and it will help in local people to preserve their old professions as well for which UP or India is known for. But how much it is possible to do it for Congress, I have serious doubt over that. Because we have to see their achievements in this regard at the center level or in the states where they are ruling. Other points in the manifesto are very common to the others. Commenting on the quota system is again a typical tactic for wooing the minority voters and I don’t think so that security/safety to the local people is at all achievable for Congress. Took the example of Delhi itself. And also mental safety is more important than the physical security, see the terrorist attack in Congress government tenure and the corrupt scandals like CWG scams and 2G schemes which have lead to the biggest financial scams in the history of India and indirectly affecting fellow countrymen and their safety rights.

I believe, in fact I support BJP at this point of time to campaign in UP for upcoming election and prepare themselves for winning the UP once again by 1) campaigning for the election freely by good leaders 2) Targeting congress and BSP for their corruption in center and in UP respectively and their development graph in both center and UP 3) More focus on providing opportunities for industrialization which can indirectly create Job opportunities for people of Uttarpradesh and 4) More focus on Education, Health and women rights.

UP election 2012: Election commission’s move to curtail the Mayavati, Kanshiram’s statues from multiple parks along with the draping of UP’s state animal elephant.

Few days back I hear a surprised dictation from Election commission of India asking local government and Nagarpalika of Uttar Pradesh to curtain all the statues of BSP leader Shri Mayavati ji and Shri Kanshiram ji and their beloved party symbol elephant. In India election commission considered to be an institution which should be known for its clear image, integrity and protector of democracy and its processes. Over the period of few years election commission is doing good work and responsible for good achievements like introduction of voting machines, awareness of people about voting process and their rights and phased polls to have clean and fair election process in each state. They tried many options but still long way to go in terms of having clean elections with increased voting percentage in all the states, also huge efforts are required to reform electoral processes so that clean candidates can only take their nominations ahead who are representing different political parties.

This time when election commission ordered to drap the Mayavati ji’s statues and elephants, it looks funny and absurd, and as election commissioner stated that the orders are given because elephant is his parties symbol and Mayavati’s statues might influence people of Uttar Pradesh. The decision is absurd and influenced. May be by other political parties like Congress or SP or some other party are having influence over election commission and because of it a sudden announcement has appear. It might be very funny to say something like what will happen if actual elephants will roam around the city or people moving on bicycle (it is party symbol of Samajvadi party) or natural Lotus in any of the pond around the state or above all how election commission will react to all people with hands, will they ban people from showing their hands.

I would like to ask election commission to justify their action in a way which sounds logical, clear and transparent, which is not the case here in case of UP election. Also I would like to request people and activists to come together and put some big questions for election commission’s integrity and I would like to ask other political parties to question election commission because it is not only about opposing the ruling government in Uttar Pradesh but to rise above politics and question election commission’s this move which might hurt or impact other parties campaign movement in future.

UP Election 2012

Today I was listening to Rahul Gandhi's speech on the Television in which he was quoting that all the BJP ruled states are most currupt and where ever they are ruling, those are symbol of curruption. He quoted thisthing because of another leader from UP , Mr. Kushwah inducted into BJP after he left BSP.
I was surprised to see comment from Rahul Gandhi where as he donot realize that Congress is leading the most currupt government in the center as of now.

All the political parties should come toegther and show Rahul Gandhi a way, so that next time he should do a proper homework before giving such kind of public statements.
